Next visiting place National Museum of Colombo Established in 1877 by Sir William Henry Gregory, Colombo National Museum is an excellent example of European era architecture. Independence Square Located in the prestigious Cinnamon Gardens district of Colombo, the Independence square is a popular tourist attraction. The place takes its name from the Independence Memorial Hall which was built to commemorate the independence of Sri Lanka from British rule in 1948.
